Soutien au Start-Up : Kante Company décroche le Prix POESAM 2024
Le Directeur Général d’Orange Madagascar, Frédéric Debord, a remis leur prix aux lauréats malgaches du Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneur Social en Afrique et Moyen-Orient (POESAM) 2023. Kante Company remporte le Premier Prix National.
Le Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneur Social en Afrique et Moyen-Orient (POESAM), depuis 2011, récompense les projets innovants de start-up, qui exploitent et développent de nouvelles technologies pour un impact sociétal positif dans des domaines comme l’éducation, la santé, le e-commerce, l’agriculture ou l’environnement. Opérateur engagé.
Cette année, plus de 200 projets ont participé au concours national, un record. 8 finalistes se sont ensuite présentés devant le grand jury composé de personnalités économiques et institutionnelles, dans les locaux d’Orange Digital Center à la Gare Soarano, afin de défendre leur projet lors d’un Pitch.Les lauréats du concours national sont :Kante Company Portée par Roussel Célestin Andriamitasoa , une plateforme digitale offrant aux étudiants en IT une première expérience professionnelle tout en renforçant leurs compétences techniques et interpersonnelles.
BRAI Portée par Andréa Valéria Andriatefiarinesy, une startup qui produit un dispositif traduisant instantanément les textes en braille, afin que les non-voyants puissent lire les mêmes documents que les voyants.
-Makimaps Portée par Tsiaro Ralitera, Makimaps est une startup qui produit l’application My Lot Trano. C’est une application qui permet aux PME et aux Grandes entreprises d’identifier facilement et de manière fiable, l’adresse de leurs clients.
-Andréa Valéria Andriatefiarinesy et BRAI remportent ainsi à la fois le 2èmePrix National et le Prix Féminin.
Les lauréats vont chacun bénéficier d’un accompagnement entrepreneurial au sein d’Orange Fab, l’accélérateur des start-ups à fort impact social
-Orange Madagascar vient en aide aux jeunes en décrochage scolaire. Avec Orange Digital Center, Orange forme les jeunes et accompagne les startups innovantes, tout en améliorant l’employabilité des jeunes.

Why a rare image of one of Malaysia’s last tigers is giving conservationists hope

Emmanuel Rondeau has photographed tigers across Asia for the past decade, from the remotest recesses of Siberia to the pristine valleys of Bhutan. But when he set out to photograph the tigers in the ancient rainforests of Malaysia, he had his doubts.
“We were really not sure that this was going to work,” says the French wildlife photographer. That’s because the country has just 150 tigers left, hidden across tens of thousands of square kilometers of dense rainforest.

“Tiger numbers in Malaysia have been going down, down, down, at an alarming rate,” says Rondeau. In the 1950s, Malaysia had around 3,000 tigers, but a combination of habitat loss, a decline in prey, and poaching decimated the population. By 2010, there were just 500 left, according to WWF, and the number has continued to fall.
The Malayan tiger is a subspecies native to Peninsular Malaysia, and it’s the smallest of the tiger subspecies in Southeast Asia.
“We are in this moment where, if things suddenly go bad, in five years the Malayan tiger could be a figure of the past, and it goes into the history books,” Rondeau adds.
Determined not to let that happen, Rondeau joined forces with WWF-Malaysia last year to profile the elusive big cat and put a face to the nation’s conservation work.
It took 12 weeks of preparations, eight cameras, 300 pounds of equipment, five months of patient photography and countless miles trekked through the 117,500-hectare Royal Belum State Park… but finally, in November, Rondeau got the shot that he hopes can inspire the next generation of conservationists.
