Programme FEC : Le FMI Approuve un Financement de 663 Millions de Dollars en Faveur de Madagascar
Le FMI à travers son Conseil d’administration a montré son confiance envers les efforts entrepris par Madagascar pour renforcer sa stabilité économique et promouvoir un développement durable.En effet, le Vendredi 21 juin 2024, le Conseil d’administration du Fonds Monétaire International (FMI) a donné son feu vert à deux accords au titre des programmes de Facilité Elargie de Crédit (FEC) et de Facilité pour la Résilience et la Durabilité (FRD), d’un montant total de 663 millions de dollars en faveur de Madagascar.
Ce nouveau FEC repose sur quatre piliers stratégiques en parfaite adéquation avec la Politique Générale de l’Etat. Ces piliers incluent la stabilité budgétaire, la promotion de la bonne gouvernance, la stimulation d’une croissance inclusive, la consolidation de la protection sociale, ainsi que le renforcement du capital humain. Les deux programmes s’étendront sur une période de 3 ans.

Il est à noter que Madagascar devient le 11ème pays dans le monde à bénéficier du programme FRD.La Facilité pour la Résilience et la Durabilité (FRD) offre un financement à la fois abordable et à long terme pour soutenir les pays engagés dans des réformes visant à atténuer les risques potentiels liés à la stabilité future de leur balance des paiements.
